We were asked to work with STACK Interiors to progressively upgrade the 12-storey building, floor by floor. This building comprises of 11 levels of office space and a ground level with a café, reception and waiting area.
The heating, ventilation and air conditioning was provided by a centralised Variable Air Volume (VAV) system with an air handling unit, boiler and rooftop air-cooled chiller. Our analysis found that the existing system was inadequate to handle the current and future building loads.
We re-zoned the building so that the existing VAV system served the south, south-east and south-west zones. We installed a new Variable Refrigerant Flor (VRF) to serve the remaining zones for a more energy-efficient, cost-effective solution.
