The brief:
We were asked to improve tenant comfort and energy use of the 6-year-old HVAC system at the Air NZ headquarters in Auckland. The HVAC system was inefficient, making areas of the building too hot, too cold, stuffy or draughty.
Solution:
An in-depth audit of the existing HVAC system and BMS was carried out, control systems were reprogrammed to meet site-specific requirements, and the mechanical plant was recommissioned and enhanced.
Final outcome:
Our remedial work and system retune significantly improved the operation of the system, resulting in enhanced tenant comfort. It also improved the reliability of the HVAC control system, including significant electricity savings. Our work will have paid for itself in just 2.6 years through energy savings.
