When the University of Otago wanted to strip out the 3-storey, 45-year-old Science 1 building in the Dunedin Campus Science Precinct and create new state-of-the-art research and teaching laboratories and facilities, Jacksons were engaged as independent commissioning agents.
In 1994 Jackson’s Otago & Southland Branch Manager Howard Healey prepared a report on the underground powerhouse ventilation systems for the powerstation’s then-owner ECNZ. In 2010, current owner Meridian Energy engaged Healey to provide a condition assessment of station’s ventilation systems as part of the powerstation’s half-life upgrade (it was built in 1971).

In March 2016, Jacksons undertook a services renewal of the Hastings District Council’s Civic Building, to replace all air conditioning, lighting and electrical services. Work was to be staged, one floor at a time, so as to provide minimal disruption to the 180 occupants of the building.
We were initially asked review the refrigeration tenders Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Ltd had received for their build of a cold-storage and warehousing facility near Auckland Airport. Our role mushroomed from there.
